Natural Hair | Co Wash Routine

Have you ever gone to bed the night before and had a set plan for the next morning to wake up at a certain time and run your errands and your alarm just fails you? Well neither have I. Hahaha.

In previous posts, I’ve just been breaking down my hair routine and I’m glad that it is helping. Today we shall discuss co washing. This step is fairly new in my regimen, but it is an important step.

To co wash is to conditioner wash your hair, you just skip the shampoo step and go straight to the conditioner. I know you’ll now ask, ‘How is the conditioner going to cleanse my hair?’ Well, when you massage your scalp with the conditioner in it, it actually lifts any build up or dirt from your scalp and leaves your hair clean without drying it out and stripping it of its natural oils like a shampoo would.

In the market now, we have cleansing co-wash. For example, the As I Am Coconut CoWash. You can find this at Super Cosmetics for about Ksh.1000 – Ksh.1500 if I’m not wrong.

You can cowash your hair as much or as little as you want but you always have to use a clarifying shampoo or a sulfate-free shampoo to cleanse your hair, like spring cleaning, but for your hair. 🙂

Suave Naturals Conditioner – Ksh. 265 (All Supermarkets)

I co wash my hair every other week with the Suave Naturals sun – ripened strawberry Conditioner, just to give my hair a break from the shampoo and to add moisture to it. It does leave my hair clean and super super soft and my curls and coils are always popping even without product but of course it is frizzy. Hahaha

It is important to co wash your hair because the conditioner does not dry out your hair which is a major issue with natural hair and it will also leave your hair soft, smooth and silky as your natural oils are retained in the hair.

I hope this was helpful and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate. I want to thank each and everyone of you for the support you’ve shown me. I love when you comment on the blog and on my instagram, y’all just make my day. Kisses.

And for daily hair pictures, check out my instagram page. Lastly, on the point of hair tutorials and all, due to some delays, I’ll only be able to start filming end of August. I’m so sorry but they shall come.

Have an amazing week.
